The topic of “RO membrane materials and industrialization key techniques” of the national “863 Plan” has passed acceptance.

The Acceptance Meeting of the topic of “RO membrane materials and industrialization key techniques” of the national“ 863 Plan” completed jointly by the Center as an undertaker, and Guiyang Shidai Huitong Membrane Sci-Tech Co., Ltd, Hangzhou Beidouxing Membrane Products Co., Ltd. and Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as the cooperative units, was held on September 12, 2012. 20-odd participants, including the leaders from of the Hi-tech Department of Ministry of Science and Technology, the people’s Republic of China, Chinese Chemical Group, BlueStar Group etc. higher- level units, and the main researchers of the topic undertaking units participated in the meeting. The expert group listened to the report on the conditions of topic implemented and reviewed related acceptance materials. Finally the experts of expert group unanimously passed acceptance of the topic and highly appraised  it.  

Salt rejection of the RO membrane elements for seawater desalination developed by the topic reached to 99.8% and that of low pressure RO membrane element reached to 99.36%, having reached the international advanced level. Meanwhile the topic has established a localization production line of low pressure RO membrane and membrane element for seawater desalination; its production capacity has reached a certain scale. The localized RO seawater desalination membrane and low pressure RO membrane have been applied successfully to a demonstration project, especially, the domestic RO seawater desalination membrane was applied successfully to the demonstration project with single unit scale 10000 m³ /d, marking historic breakthrough of domestic seawater desalination membrane.

 The topic’s successful implementation greatly heightens the level of manufacture techniques of RO membrane products in our country, and powerfully promotes the development of RO membrane techniques and industries in our country; It will break the situation that RO membrane depends on imported products.
